Too often nowadays the AIDS pandemic affecting millions of people across the globe is shared in the grim and deplorable death that it has ravaged on the African continent. But rather than bringing people together, these doomsday figures and emaciated pictures dehumanize the breadth of people that live and breath these issues. Two musicians, bonded by their passion for music and their desire to share real-life stories through music, started planning.
The resulting album spanned 2 continents, incorporated 26 Malawians from all walks of life, featured a dozen Malawian musicians, and eventually embodied the transformative power of the universal language of music. After 3 years of painstaking work, the 10 track album was born and to mark its birth in the United States, a group of 40 actors, musicians, dancers, projectionists, and videographers, came together to create a multi-media experience like never before.
